The output results of Centre for landscape and biodiversity will help the nature conservation bodies (particularly The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic) to solve ongoing problems in landscape and its ecosystems.<\/p>\n

DivLand branches into five thematic groups: Resilient landscape, Forest ecosystems, Agrosystems & soil, Invasions and Functional biodiversity. These groups are further divided into work packages which contain concrete activities. Their ultimate result is usually a proposal of measures on how to treat landscape and its ecosystems in the future, so that they stay varied and resilient even in times of global environment shifts.<\/p>\n

The project is run by a consortum of eleven research institutions. Individual tasks are thus solved by top teams of experts who have been dealing with the issues of biodiversity changes, landscape dynamics and the functioning of individual ecosystems in the Czech Republic for a long time.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As all other countries, Czech Republic must be prepared for climate change and related processes and risks. The key to solving a number of problems that can be expected lies in adaptation and mitigation measures in landscape or changes in management of selected ecosystems.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, for responsible decisions in the field of nature and landscape management, the relevant authorities (especially the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic) must have quality information at their disposal, supported by robust data. Databases of landscape use, structure and dynamics of individual ecosystems or the state of biodiversity often exist, but need to be supplemented, and especially thorough evaluation and interpretation is needed in order to propose the necessary measures. This is why the project DivLand - Centre for Landscape and biodiversity was created: it will help unify, supplement and standardize a number of sub-databases and information, which will be be compiled into useful outputs (research reports, catalogs of measures, workshops for users or book publications).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project will run for 6 years from 2021-2026.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
